Frequently Asked Questions
Permanent makeup (PMU) is a cosmetic tattoo technique where pigment is implanted into the skin to enhance features such as eyebrows and lips. Unlike traditional tattoos, PMU uses specialized pigments and techniques designed to fade gradually and look soft and natural over time.
What is permanent makeup?
Results typically last 1–3 years depending on skin type, lifestyle, and how well you care for your brows or lips. Most clients come back for a color refresh every 1–2 years to maintain their look.
How long does permanent makeup last?
Discomfort is very minimal to nonw. A topical anesthetic is applied throughout the procedure to keep you comfortable. Most clients describe it as a scratching or tickling sensation rather than pain.
Is permanent makeup painful?
Powder Ombre Brows: A soft, shaded look that resembles brow makeup. Great for all skin types and for those who love a filled-in, polished brow.
Nano Combo Brows: Combines hair like strokes only at the front of the brows with shading throughout for a natural yet defined look. Perfect for clients who want the best of both worlds.
What’s the difference between Powder Ombre and Nano Combo Brows?
Lip Blush enhances your natural lip color, defines the shape, and gives the appearance of fuller, youthful lips. It heals into a soft tint, not a heavy lipstick look. Color can be customized to your preference.
What is Lip Blush?
Healing takes about 7–14 days (longer for others), with full results visible after 4–6 weeks. You may experience light scabbing or flaking as the skin heals. Pigment will initially look darker, fade during healing, and then reappear softer once fully healed.
During this time, many clients experience the “ghosting phase”—a stage where pigment looks like it has disappeared completely. This is normal! The pigment is still settling under the skin and will resurface over the next couple of weeks. The touch-up session will perfect any areas that healed lighter.
What is the healing process like?
Yes. All PMU is a two-step process. A touch-up (retouch session) is required 6–12 weeks after the initial procedure to perfect the shape and color. After that, maintenance sessions are only needed every 1–2 years. Some clients may need more than 2 sessions for desired results.
Do I need a touch-up?
Every case is different. In most situations, I recommend that brows be at least 50% (or more) faded before starting new work. This ensures better color retention, shape correction, and overall results. A consultation is required, so please send clear photos before booking to see if you’re a good candidate.
